In contrast to a separate app to access Momentum, I think that Momentum would make for a fantastic Android Launcher. I know that a launcher may be a very different beast from a web app/browser extension, but please hear me out:
- Momentum already shares a lot of functionality with minimalist Android launchers: shortcuts for frequently used apps, daily wallpaper changes and insipirational quotes, task trackers, weather and clock widgets, etc.
- Momentum as a launcher would really make the mobile experience feel like a part of the ecosystem
- Easier, at-a-glance access to Momentum on mobile as opposed to a separate, isolated app, which would be especially helpful for tracking to-dos, countdowns, and metrics
- Phones are a huge distraction. Momentum’s goal to encourage productivity, focus, and motivation aligns well with the purpose of minimalist launchers. With the way the browser extension has been executed, I really believe that a Momentum launcher would be a great competitor due to its simplicity, customizability, intuitive and attractive design, and unique features.
There are a lot of feature requests right now, but I hope you can see some value in this proposal. Thanks for all you do! Momentum is awesome :)
